In the Brooklyn Nine-Nine holiday episode “Two Turkeys,” NYPD detectives Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) celebrate Thanksgiving together. And they invite both sets of parents. No, it doesn’t go well. Amy’s father Victor is portrayed by Jimmy Smits. Her mother Camila is played by Bertila Damas. Jake’s mother Karen is played by Katey Sagal. Jake’s father Roger Peralta is portrayed by Bradley Whitford. Now that is an all-star cast!
[Check out Smits and Whitford together on The West Wing]
Bradley Whitford is known for his roles on Transparent (Mark/Marcy/Magnus), Happyish (Jonathan Cooke), Trophy Wife (Peter Harrison), Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (Danny Tripp), and The West Wing (Josh Lyman), among others. Whitford and Smits were on two shows together: The West Wing (Smits played Congressman turned President Matthew Santos and Whitford was his Chief of Staff) and NYPD Blue (Smits played Detective Bobby Simone, and Whitford played sleazy journalist Norman Gardner). Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs Tuesdays at 9:30pm on FOX, right after The Mick.
