In the Star episode “Faking It,” Ayanna (Michael Michele) works quickly to try to restore Midtown’s image. Meanwhile, the girls (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady) try to convince hot recording artist Joyce Sheree to sing a featured verse on one of their songs. If she does, they’ll get a spot in the showcase for sure.
Joyce Sheree is portrayed by Teyana Taylor. She’s known for roles in the films Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming (Rena), Madea’s Big Happy Family (Sabrina), and in the Big Sean videos “I.D.F.W.U.” and “I Don’t F—k with You,” among others. Taylor will appear next on the big screen in the 2018 film Honey 4 with Empire stars Bryshere Y. Gray and Sierra Aylina McClain. Fun fact about Taylor: She and her husband, NBA basketball player Iman Shumpert, are the (naked) stars in Kanye West’s 2016 video “Fade.” See below.
