The setting for the one-hour TV special Michael Jackson’s Halloween is a mysterious hotel called This Place Hotel. Located at 777 Jackson Street, This Place Hotel welcomes two millennials — Vincent (Lucas Till, MacGyver) and Victoria (Kiersey Clemons, Extant). During their exploration of the hotel, they meet a number of people including Conformity (Lucy Liu, Elementary), a female character who forbids music and dancing at the hotel. (If you hear “Footloose” in your head, you’re onto the plot.) Conformity’s right-hand-man is Meriwether, a five-eyed, eight-legged spider who’s in charge of security at the hotel. Meriwether is portrayed by Alan Cumming. The Broadway star is known for his role on the CBS hit drama The Good Wife as Peter Florrick’s right-hand-man Eli Gold.
You can see Cumming next in the new CBS series Instinct based on a soon-to-be-released crime novel by the prolific James Patterson. Cumming plays a former CIA operative who leads a normal life as a college professor and writer. But when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer, he acquiesces. In Michael Jackson’s Halloween special, Cumming finds himself on the set with another The Good Wife alum, the dynamic Christine Baranski who voices Victoria’s boss Mrs. Grau. Cumming played a role not unlike his Halloween special Meriwether the spider role when he was on The Good Wife — he was the eyes, ears and security of the governor. See photos below. Michael Jackson’s Halloween airs Friday, October 27 at 8pm on CBS.
