Scott Pruitt, Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is in the news again. The EPA has ordered a nearly $25,000 soundproof booth for Pruitt “to guard against hacking and eavesdropping.” EPA spokesperson Liz Bowman said “a number, if not all, Cabinet offices” have one and the “EPA needs to have [one] updated.” Former EPA spokesperson Liz Purchia-Gannon who served under President Obama, called the purchase “bizarre” and unnecessary as the agency already had a secure room for working with classified information.
Perhaps Pruitt will also pray in the soundproof booth? He and eight other Cabinet members including Vice President Mike Pence, Tom Price, Betsy DeVos, Rick Perry, Ben Carson, and CIA Director Mike Pompeo) are White House Capital Sponsors of Capitol Ministries, an organization that “plants and develops biblical ministries of evangelism and discipleship to Public Servants.” Pruitt served as a deacon at his church, the First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. According to EE News (EE is for Energy and Environment), Nick Garland, senior pastor at First Baptist Church said of Pruitt, “He’s not a wild-eyed weirdo. There are some weird ducks out there. Scott is a great student, he doesn’t do anything on hearsay.” In photo below, Garland is on Pruitt’s left.
