It might seem early to watch a movie about Christmas but hey, December 25 is only five months away! In the Hallmark Channel movie The Christmas Cure, Vanessa is an ER doctor who returns to her hometown when her father announces his retirement. While helping out her father Bruce (Patrick Duffy) in his clinic, she reunites with her high school boyfriend Mitch (Steve Byers) and yes, they fall in love again which has her thinking about staying in town.
Vanessa is portrayed by Brooke Nevin. The Canadian-born actress is known for her roles on Scorpion (Walter’s date Linda), Quantum Break (Emily Burke), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (Maya), Call Me Fitz (Sonja Lester), Cracked (Dr. Clarra Malone), Chicago Fire (Tara Little), and Breakout Kings (Julianne Simms), among others. Fun fact about Nevin: Her father Robert “Bob” Nevin was a professional hockey player (New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Los Angeles Kings). The Christmas Cure premieres on Hallmark Channel on July 15 at 9pm.
