Puddles Pity Party, the sad clown with a serious set of pipes, returns to the stage on America’s Got Talent. For his Judge Cuts performance, in front of guest judge music producer DJ Khaled, Puddles sings one of the saddest songs ever, “All By Myself.” The power ballad was written by Eric Carmen and released in 1975. It was Carmen’s first single after leaving the pop band the Raspberries.

A number of artists have since covered “All By Myself” including Frank Sinatra (listen below!) and perhaps most famously, Celine Dion (1996). It was such a big hit for Dion that she recorded a Spanish version of the song called “Sola otra vez.” The song stayed in the forefront of pop culture into the 21st century when actress Renee Zellweger sang “All By Myself” in the 2001 blockbuster film Bridget Jones’s Diary. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
