Weeks prior to the 71st annual Tony Awards, host Kevin Spacey visited a number of the nominees backstage including Josh Groban, who’s starring in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, which has the most nominations this year (12). (It is based on a passage of Tolstoy’s War and Peace.) Of Spacey’s visit in May, Groban wrote: “I just love this guy. Always the nicest and tackles his craft from all sides, never afraid to take risks and have fun. Honored to play Pierre for him. Just hoping he doesn’t spoof me now from the Tony stage.”
