In the Great News episode ‘Serial Arsonist’, when field reporter Kevin (Alec Wilson) is arrested for arson, Carol (Andrea Martin) suggests that her daughter Katie (Briga Heelan) take his place. When Katie gets in front of the camera, Carol steps up her stage mom game with encouragement from her best friend Angie Deltaliano.
Angie is portrayed by Emmy Award winning comedic actress/singer Vicki Lawrence. She’s known for her roles on Hannah Montana (Mamaw Ruthie), Yes, Dear (Natalie Warner), Mama’s Family (Mama), Laverne & Shirley (Sgt. Alvinia T. Plout), and The Carol Burnett Show (various characters including Eunice’s Mama), among others. Great News airs Tuesdays at 9pm and 9:30pm on NBC.
