The CIA may or may not have been “tapping” Donald Trump‘s phones in Trump Tower, as the president has alleged. But there is little doubt that certain figures in the Trump administration are being monitored by prominent government officials. Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren has launched a website nakedly called DeVos Watch — and its sole purpose is to monitor the activity of US Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.
DeVos is a billionaire Trump appointee who many Democrats believe will use her post to hobble the core competence of the American public education system. DeVos is an outspoken proponent of vouchers and charter schools and increasing the privatization of America’s public school system. Warren contends that in her first months in Trump’s cabinet: “Secretary DeVos has taken a series of steps that undermine protections for students and taxpayers.”
