In The Great Indoors episode ‘The Heartbreaker’, while Emma (Christine Ko) decides to break up with her boyfriend Greg (Andy Ridings), Jack (Joel McHale) plans a double date with Eddie (Chris Williams), but their night turns awkward when they run into Eddie’s ex-wife Denise.
Ex-wife Denise is portrayed by Essence Atkins. She’s known for her roles on Mr. Box Office (Samantha Owens), Are We There Yet? (Suzanne Kingston-Persons), Half & Half (Dee Dee Thorne), Smart Guy (Tasha Yvette Henderson), Malibu Shores (Julie Tate), and Under One Roof (Charlie), among others. Atkins is also recognized for her roles as Lauren in the Girlfriends Getaway movies and as Kisha in the A Haunted House movies. Atkins will star with Marlon Wayans in the family sitcom Marlon on NBC this summer (see below). The Great Indoors airs Thursdays at 8:30pm on CBS.
