In the Criminal Minds episode ‘Assistance Is Futile’, while Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) tries to adapt to prison life, the BAU gets a break when Miranda White steps forward. She’s the mother of Danny White (Aidan Bristow), the unsub known as the Bone Crusher.
Danny’s mother is portrayed by Academy Award winner Tatum O’Neal. She’s known for her TV roles on Rescue Me (Maggie Gavin) and Wicked Wicked Games (Blythe Hunter), and as a younger actress in the films Little Darlings (Ferris), International Velvet (Sarah Brown), The Bad News Bears (Amanda Whurlitzer), and Paper Moon (Addie Loggins) with her real life father Ryan O’Neal. At age 10, Tatum O’Neal became the youngest Oscar winner ever when she won for Best Actress in Supporting Role (Paper Moon). It was her acting debut. Criminal Minds airs Wednesdays at 9pm on CBS.
