You may be successful yet. That’s really the inspirational story told every day on Howard Stern‘s show, not that Stern is trying to inspire. But he talks to such a wide collection of funny, dedicated people who never stop trying that mass exposure to Stern’s show gives people hope — even if they don’t realize it during the fart jokes. [LEFT: American on Purpose: The Improbable Adventures of an Unlikely Patriot by Craig Ferguson]
This week on Stern’s show Ferguson said, among other things, that he wet the bed until he was 13, used to get his ass kicked constantly, and escaped from being a fat kid to being sort of a coke fiend. But, as the adage said, he just kept showing up. (He’s also a pretty brilliant raconteur, whose monologues were among the best on TV for a long time. ) When Ferguson first got the late night gig, Stern admitted asking: “Who the F%$* is Craig Ferguson?” He knows now: Ferguson’s new gig is a daily show on SiriusXM.
