Lifetime is attempting to recreate the success of its talent competition The Rap Game with Jermaine Dupri with The Pop Game with Timbaland. The four-time Grammy Award winner is mentoring five aspiring pop stars who are competing to join his record label Mosley Music Group which works with OneRepublic, Nelly Furtado, Keri Hilson, and Timbaland himself. Furtado will appear on the series premiere of The Pop Game where she’ll meet all five contestants including Ian Grey.

Ian Grey is the 15-year-old from San Antonio, Texas. According to his Lifetime The Pop Game profile, he’s been “sacrificing the comforts of his home and his family” for years. In 2014, Ian relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a full-time career in music. Ian is certainly serious about his music and his talent is obvious — but can he beat the other four talented vocalists on The Pop Game? Timbaland and company air Tuesdays at 10pm on Lifetime.
