The Dateline episode “Ransom” investigates the kidnapping of 37-year-old Quinn Gray. In 2009, her wealthy husband Reid Gray got a frantic phone call from his wife saying she had been kidnapped from their $4 million home in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Her kidnappers demanded a $50,000 ransom. A few days later Gray was found. Police believed she plotted the kidnapping with her 25-year-old lover Jasmin Osmanovic, a mechanic she met at a gas station.
Quinn Gray’s attorney Mark Miller said his client was mentally ill and had been treated for alcoholism. Reid Gray was supportive of his wife at first while she was awaiting trial, but he eventually filed for divorce. In 2011, Quinn Hanna pleaded no contest to an extortion charge and received seven years of probation. According to The Florida Times-Union, she receives $10,000 a month as part of her divorce settlement. Dateline NBC airs Sundays at 7pm.
