The black-ish episode ‘LEMONS’ takes place after the 2016 presidential election. While Junior is asked to read Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech at school, Dre struggles at work where tensions are running high, no thanks to his co-workers, particularly Lucy who reveals she voted for Trump but isn’t a racist because she “has black friends.”
Lucy is portrayed by Catherine Reitman. She’s the creator and co-star of the new CBC series Workin’ Moms which premieres January 10), and is known for her roles on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (Maureen Ponderosa) and Family Guy (the voice of Wheel-Cher), among others. And as the daughter of the late great director Ivan Reitman.
