Howard Stern sounds mystified. The self-styled “King of All Media” has been talking to Donald Trump for decades. And unlike Trump’s now famous conversation with Billy Bush, Stern’s conversations with Trump were never considered private. After all, nearly every time Trump and Stern spoke they were live on the radio. So all these so-called revelations about Trump’s sexism and misogyny that reporters are turning up by listening to old Stern shows? Stern doesn’t understand the surprise: “None of this was hidden. This is who Trump is. He was always bombastic. He always rated women.”
Stern says Trump has long been open about his views on sex and women. Apparently it’s just that nobody in the mainstream media was paying attention. “[Trump] always talked in a misogynistic, sexist kind of way,” Stern said this week during his show. “But he did it sort of proudly and out in the open; and he still won the Republican primary.”
