On Season 11 of The Voice, new coach Alicia Keys (who replaced Pharrell Williams) has been successful getting the artists she wants on Team Alicia. During the Blind Auditions, she stood up and preached in order to get the harmonious sisters, Whitney and Shannon. And now she’s pulling out all the stops by asking Charlie Puth to guest mentor Team Alicia. Before the 24-year-old YouTube sensation released his debut studio album Nine Track Mind in January, his single “See You Again” was nominated for three Grammy Awards.
In June 2016, Puth signed with Maverick Management, which also represents Alicia Keys and her predecessor Pharrell Williams. (Okay, and Miley Cyrus, too.) When the news was announced, Puth posted a photo of him and Pharrell with the caption: “very happy to be a part of the family.” The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
