The new ABC series Notorious captures the dubious relationship between the law and media. In the pilot, TV news producer Julia George (Piper Perabo) puts defense attorney Jake Gregorian on her show. He’s asked about his billionaire playboy client who might have been involved in a hit-and-run. Gregorian storms off the set when the show cuts to live video of his client surrendering to police. But it turns out, Gregorian wasn’t mad at all. He helped to arrange the televised surrender.
Jake is portrayed by Daniel Sunjata. He’s known for his roles on Graceland (Paul Briggs), Smash (Peter Gilman), Grey’s Anatomy (Eli Lloyd), Rescue Me (Franco Rivera), The Bronx Is Burning (Reggie Jackson), and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (CSU Technician Burt Trevor), among others. He’s also recognized for his roles in the films The Dark Knight Rises (Captain Jones) and The Devil Wears Prada (James Holt). Notorious airs Thursdays at 9pm on ABC.
