Paulie Calafiore, brother of Big Brother 16 houseguest Cody Calafiore, proves he has what it takes to compete on his own on Big Brother 18. Paulie, the 27-year-old underwear model from Howell, New Jersey, won Head of Household. He says of winning the show: “There are multiple strategies I’ll use, none of which have any meaning prior to entering the house and seeing what pieces I’ll be playing chess with.”

He recently posted “The darkest hour is just before the dawn…Belief comes easy in the light… In the dark is where your will to succeed is tested…” The phrase “the darkest hour is just before the dawn” was first cited in theologian Thomas Fuller’s 1650 religious travelogue, A Pisquah-Sight of Palestin and the Confines Thereof. But Paulie is more likely quoting the 2008 film The Dark Knight starring Christian Bale as Batman. Big Brother 18 airs Sundays at 8pm on CBS.
