RNC Chairman Reince Priebus will be one of the speakers during the fourth night of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. His speech comes the night after former presidential candidate Senator Ted Cruz did not endorse Donald Trump and told Republicans to “vote your conscious.” The New York Times wrote: “It was a stunning departure from other modern political conventions.”
Just months ago, Donald Trump said the GOP rules are “rigged” (when he thought Ted Cruz could get the nomination through a brokered convention) and said Priebus “should be ashamed of himself.” When Reuters asked Priebus in April if Trump gets under his skin, Priebus said, “No, he doesn’t because I kind of know where he’s coming from. I’m not unfamiliar with his opinions. So it doesn’t really bother me because I know what the truth is.” Reince Priebus will take the opportunity to speak that truth on Thursday night. He won’t go off the reservation like Ted Cruz did, but will he express any reservation at all?
