The Orlando murderer’s father, Seddiqque Mir Mateen, told NBC News that he always told his son that “terrorists and terrorism are the enemy of the whole humanity.” His son proved him right with a killing rampage that goes down as the worst shooting yet on U.S. soil. The murderer, Omar Mateen, allegedly swore allegiance to ISIS in a 911 call before his attack.
Seddique Mir Mateen posted a video to Facebook saying he was mystified by his son’s actions. In the video, which is no longer accessible on Facebook, the elder Mateen called his son a “good boy” who “got enough attention from the family, good education, good life and with a good job.” The father added: “I am really sorry and have expressed this to the people of the United States, especially in this holy month of Ramadan.” Mateen said.
