Golden State Warriors provocateur and superstar Draymond Green got into it with LeBron James in the Warriors Game 4 victory in Cleveland. Green, a second-round draft pick who has emerged as one of the league’s best players, carries a chip on his shoulder as big as Gibraltar — and he uses it to great effect. Green is an unrepentant trash talker who likes to get in the ear of opponents as well as up in their face on defense.
That was clear with James in Game 4, where the two had to be separated after excessive physical contact turned into heated dialog on the court. “Draymond just said something that I don’t agree with,” James said, explaining his reaction. With Green now talking his familiar brand of smack to James this aggressively, that leaves Hall of Fame cinch Tim Duncan as the only superstar who has escaped — for the most part — Green’s energetic chatter. Green’s tactics haven’t bothered James in the past, but with James doubtlessly already frustrated with the Cavs play and predicament he looked more vulnerable to Green’s taunting ways.
