Elizabeth Warren has done Twitter battle with Donald Trump before, but a new MoveOn video (below) shows the senator from Massachusetts turning up the attack volume on the GOP nominee. Warren, who could submit this as a video resume for the Clinton running mate job, goes after Trump where he lives: she attacks his money. She attacks both how he got it and, having her cake and eating it too, if he has as much as he says.
Trump’s money is his primary claim on fame and power; his reputation is inseparable from his fortune. Warren retells the story of Trump’s inherited wealth, his bankruptcy troubles, his distance from everyday workers and — especially — his refusal to be transparent and reveal his taxes. Warren also gives a warning that her attacks won’t stop at Trump’s reluctance to reveal his taxes. It’s just a start. She hints at other subjects, saying:
“I have to be honest: It’s hard to talk about Donald Trump. Between his ignorance, racism, sexism, lies—it’s hard to know where to start. But we’ve got to start somewhere and today I want to focus on one lie that helps sum up what Donald J. Trump is all about—his taxes.”
