Bill Simmons will kick off his new show Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons on HBO on June 22. His first interview will be with former NBA star Charles Barkley who always provides colorful commentary. Simmons’ second guest will be Oscar-winning actor Ben Affleck. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the solo interview “is expected to last 10 to 12 minutes.” Simmons and Affleck, both Boston natives, are known to hang out and talk about sports. In 2015, Simmons, Affleck, Affleck’s best friend Matt Damon and the lead singer of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Dicky Barrett, watched the Super Bowl together and celebrated the Patriots’ win (see photo).
All of Simmons’ interviews are pre-taped and edited prior to airing on the half-hour show. Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons will air Wednesdays at 10pm on HBO.
