Maya and Marty is the new late night variety show on NBC featuring famous comedic actors Maya Rudolph and Martin Short. Both have tried it on their own (The Martin Short Show, Primetime Glick, The Maya Rudolph Show) so maybe a collaboration is exactly what they need.
One thing working in Maya and Marty‘s favor is the show’s theme song, which was written and produced by Jack White. Yes, Grammy Award-winning Jack White of The White Stripes has written his first song for television. Oh, and he’s on drums. (Dean Fertita is on organ; Lillie Mae Rische on guitar; Dominic Davis on bass; and Fats Kaplin on pedal steel guitar.) Maya and Marty premieres on May 31 at 10pm on NBC.
