In the TV movie Love by Chance, when pastry chef Claire Michaels (Beau Garrett) falls in love by chance with handsome young doctor Eric, she couldn’t be happier. But when she finds out it was her well-intentioned, meddling mother Helen (Brenda Strong) who created an online profile for her daughter and set the young couple up, Claire is not happy. Feeling betrayed, Claire puts an end to her promising relationship with Eric.
Eric is portrayed by Ben Ayres. The Canadian-born actor is known for his roles on Bitten (Jorge Sorrentino), Saving Hope (Dr. Zachary Miller), Schitt’s Creek (Grant Byers), The Vampire Diaries (William Tanner), and Smallville (Jason Bartlett), among others. Fun fact: Ayres was in the film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer with his Love by Chance co-star Beau Garrett (she was Captain Raye, he was a guard). Love by Chance premieres on April 16 at 9pm on Hallmark. It will air again on April 23 at 7pm and April 24 at 11am.
