The Washington Post obtained a memo that Trump senior campaign adviser Barry Bennett sent to the Trump campaign team. In the memo Bennett not surprisingly rips the perceived attacks on his candidate by the mainstream media and “Washington Establishment.” Bennett wrote with what sounds like malicious glee about how “DC Pundits scurried to the networks to proclaim the end was at hand for Donald Trump.”
Why the glee? Because Bennett cites a poll that shows Trump’s lead increasing during the same week media talking heads were proclaiming Trump’s imminent demise (as they’ve done for nearly a year now). Bennett doubled down in his Teflon boss’s style, saying that the bad news as declared by the media establishment implicated only them, not the candidate. “America is sick of them. Their idiotic attacks just remind voters why they hate the Washington Establishment,” Bennett wrote. Bennett admitted to the Post that he wrote the “leaked” memo.
