Kiefer Sutherland is usually found in more dire situations on TV. But the multi-talented Sutherland, star of 24, is an excellent choice to be among the presenters at the ACM awards. Consider this: in some cases the winners’ whole lives will change drastically in a matter of just 24 hours — a time frame and high stakes that Sutherland, as Jack Bauer, is uniquely familiar with. Secondly there’s the little matter of Sutherland trying to win one of these awards — but not till next year.
Because Sutherland is releasing his first country album this year — slated to be called Down in a Hole. He’s got a single out already called “Not Enough Whiskey” (see below) and he’s touring. The video is getting some nods that will surely please the novice recording artist, with comments like, “as a guy who’s grown up on country music… I’m genuinely surprised at this, he’s actually a pretty damn good country singer :)” and “Once I disassociated his face with his film career, the music really isn’t that bad and I don’t even like country.” Note: “really isn’t that bad” means “pretty damn good” in Internet comments lingo. Besides, if anybody deserves a fresh chance, it’s Sutherland, right? Look how often he’s saved the world.
