On the TV series Heartbeat, a gorgeous, single female heart transplant surgeon named Dr. Alexandra “Alex” Panttiere (Melissa George) demonstrates unorthodox practices at the hospital…and when off-duty. One of the male surgeons, a liver transplant surgeon, who takes notice of her is Dr. Pierce Harrison.

Dr. Pierce Harrison is portrayed by Dave Annable. He’s best known for his roles on Red Band Society (Dr. Jack McAndrew), 666 Park Avenue (Henry Martin), Brothers & Sisters (Justin Walker), and Reunion (Aaron Lewis). Fun fact about Annable: He’s married to Odette née Yustman Annable (Trudy Cooper on The Astronaut Wives Club, Dr. Jessica Adams on House M.D., Annie on Brothers & Sisters). Heartbeat premieres on March 22 at 9pm on NBC. It will move to Wednesdays at 8pm on March 23.
