Subway introduced its catchy, tasty alliteration — the five-dollar footlong — in 2007. Hungry people have grown accustomed to getting a full 12″ from the local Subway for a fiver. But that happy near-decade when Abe Lincoln could win you a foot’s worth of sub is over. Now the Subway footlong is $6.
A few customers complained online, but most seem as if they’ll dig deeper for the dollar rather than abandon Subway. After all, at 50 cents an inch, the Subway footlong is still a pretty rich deal.
