Matthew Leili installed 21 surveillance cameras in his Lawrenceville, Georgia home where he lived with his wife Nique Leili and their two daughters. He also recorded all phone calls. On June 28, 2011, Nique Leili called 911 and told a dispatcher, “My husband refuses to let me leave the house.” Then a male voice got on the phone. “My wife is yelling and screaming and just woke up the children. My name is Matt Leili,” he said. “I think my wife is just throwing a temper tantrum. I don’t think we need the police.”
Later, Nique Leili is heard saying, “You don’t need to come. I’ll stay in the house all day.” Less than three weeks later, Nique went missing. Four days after reporting Nique missing, Matt filed for divorce and refused to help search for his wife. On July 16, Nique Leili’s naked body was found in the woods near her home. Matt Leili was found guilty of murdering her. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole. ABC 20/20 will air its investigative report on February 19 at 10pm.
