Gizelle (nee Graves) Bryant is one of the six women starring in The Real Housewives of Potomac. After graduating from Hampton University, she married Jamal Bryant, megachurch pastor of the Empowerment Temple AME Church in Baltimore. After seven years of marriage including having three daughters, the couple divorced due to an extramartial affair had by Jamal. The divorce rocked the church in 2010 but today Jamal Bryant continues working with his ministry of 12,000 members.

Jamal Bryant made national headlines after the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old who was fatally shot by George Zimmerman in 2012. With Martin’s parents, Bryant often spoke at press conferences — and he led a number of rallies seeking justice in Martin’s name. In 2016, Jamal Bryant is scheduled as the keynote speaker of a Martin Luther King Day breakfast in Florida but a group is protesting after learning of Bryant’s stance on homosexuality, which he has said is a sin. The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 9pm on Bravo.
