On The Muppets episode “Going, Going, Gonzo,” while Joseph Gordon-Levitt performs a duet with Miss Piggy on “Up Late” and the Great Gonzo prepares for his next death-defying stunt, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl challenges Animal to a drumming face-off. According to Consequence of Sound, “Grohl and the mangy Muppet” go “snare for snare, cymbal for cymbal in a raucous round of rhythmic rivalry.”
Grohl starts the set with a gentle cymbal tap. “Oh, what’s that? A bell?” he asks Animal. “Time for school!” Drums are kicked over and the face-off ends with the two drummers panting and actually agreeing on the winner. The Muppets airs Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC.
