On the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode “Patrimonial Burden,” the victim is a virginal teenage girl who becomes pregnant. Lane Baker (Victoria Leigh) isn’t your typical teen from a typical family. She is the star of a reality TV show that features her ultra Christian family – her mother, her father, and her seven siblings. When her parents, Frank and Pam Baker (Christopher Sieber, Geneva Carr) learn the news of Lane’s pregnancy, they tell the police they don’t see it as a crime but a blessing. Their take on the pregnancy is supported by their pastor Gregory Evans.
Pastor Evans is portrayed by Ryan Devlin. The 35-year-old actor is best known for his roles on Jane the Virgin (Billy Cordero), Brothers & Sisters (Seth Whitley), Cougar Town (Smith Frank), Grey’s Anatomy (Bill Portman), and Veronica Mars (Mercer Hayes). Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9pm on NBC.
