On the Empire episode “True Love Never,” while Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) pushes and promotes her Lyon Dynasty, her ex-husband Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) continues to plot to expand the reach of his company, Empire. He sees an opportunity with a streaming music company and meets with its founder, Jago Locke.

Jago is portrayed by Patrick Mulvey. The Chicago-born actor has appeared on several TV shows including Chicago P.D., NCIS, and CSI: NY. He’s best known for his role as Gio Patton on the FOX show The Mob Doctor with Jordana Spiro. Mulvey recently landed his first leading role in the film Heart of Wilderness with Sarah Prikryl. He’s currently working on the TV series The Girlfriend Experience based on Steven Soderberg’s film of the same title. Mulvey was in the original Broadway production of Billy Elliot in 2008, and then traveled with the US show in 2010. Empire airs Wednesdays at 9pm on FOX.
