GOP presidential contenders Chris Christie, the New Jersey governor, and Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor, won’t appear on the main stage in the fourth GOP debate. The two candidates failed to meet the requirements set forth by FOX Business, the debate host. Both candidates are still invited to participate in the second-tier debate — the undercard — that takes place on the same night before the main event. Neither Christie nor Huckabee averaged at least 2.5% support in the four most recent national polls. That made them ineligible according to the parameters set by FOX.
The qualification standard for the undercard debate is only 1%, a figure smaller than the margins of error in most polls. The debates take place on November 10. The undercard is at 7pm. The main debate is at 9pm. If you can’t wait till then to see a GOP candidate on TV, tune in to NBC at 11:30pm Saturday night, November : Donald Trump will be hosting Saturday Night Live.
