UFC heavyweight Travis Browne (6’7″, 255 pounds) is in the news after his long summer of patient silence. Browne has been the target of domestic abuse accusations leveled by his estranged wife Jenna Webb. Webb made her accusations prominent through social media accounts in July, posting photos of herself covered with bruises on Instagram. Perhaps fearing a situation like the domestic abuse problems that hit the NFL last year, the UFC quickly suspended Browne and launched an investigation. The results of the investigation, done by a law firm hired by the UFC, found no wrongdoing by Browne. He is now cleared to fight.

About why he didn’t publicly defend himself this summer, Brown said in an interview with The MMA Hour, “If I threw rocks at every dog that barked, I would not get to where I’m going.” It’s something he teaches his two sons from a previous marriage. While staying quiet amidst the summer storm of accusations online and off, Browne did manage to fall into something pretty good: a romantic relationship with the best fighter on the planet — Ronda Rousey.
