60 Minutes follows New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis in his home town of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. CBS’ Armen Keteyian interviews the All-Pro defender’s family and private coach, Will Sullivan. Sullivan says Revis is “the best in the NFL in the first five” yards of cover off the line of scrimmage.
Compared to other NFL stars, Revis is considered humble. He negotiated a $70 million five-year contract with the Jets in March and yet lives in a rental apartment in New Jersey near the team’s practice facility in Florham Park. Sure he owns a beach house in Florida, but considering Revis is a multimillionaire, his lifestyle in Jersey is modest. According to ESPN, he was recently driving a Mini Cooper. “I did a ton of research on it,” Revis says. “It’s great for parking.” On 60 Minutes, Revis tells Keteyian, “I’m a laidback guy…I’m very simple, it’s simplicity with me. Everything else… the 10 cars or the 20 cars is… that’s ludicrous.” 60 Minutes will air its profile of Revis on October 18 at 7:30pm.
