In the Season 6 premiere of The Walking Dead, a number of the people in the safe zone of Alexandria voice their distrust of leader Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). The two loudest dissenters are Pete’s wife Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) and a desperate, blue-collar worker named Carter who doesn’t have what it takes to survive.

Carter is portrayed by Ethan Embry. He’s familiar because before he started acting in TV shows, he appeared in more than 100 TV and radio commercials. And he still does. Embry’s most recent commercial is airing now. While driving an Infiniti QX60, Embry reenacts the scene from National Lampoon’s Vacation where Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) flirts with a beautiful blonde (Christie Brinkley) in a convertible. In the commercial, Christie Brinkley is in the passenger seat and chides Embry for flirting with “a blonde in a convertible, c’mon!” Embry is currently starring in the Netflix series Grace and Frankie with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston. The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9pm on AMC. It’s followed by Talking Dead at 10pm.
