Blaze Pizza is trending because NBA superstar LeBron James ditched his deal with faltering McDonald’s to go all in with the hot pizza chain. James was an early investor in Blaze, but now he’ll put his face and voice where his money is — he’ll join the Blaze Pizza marketing efforts as a spokesperson. In addition, he gets Blaze franchise rights in Miami and Chicago — some very desirable equity. The math is pretty simple on a LeBron James marketing deal: besides all the glamorous camera time on TV, James can also tweet out a Blaze Friday night special to his 24 million Twitter followers.
