You want to spend some time in a nice place? Visit Ana Ivanovic on Twitter, where it’s all about peace, and you get to go around the world with one of the world’s great athletes. What’s not to love? You can even chew on, then try to use her helpful mantra there: Everything that kills me makes me feel alive. It’s a line from a One Republic song called “Counting Stars.” The lyrics go:
Lately I’ve been, I’ve been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But, baby I’ve been, I’ve been praying hard
Said no more counting dollars, we’ll be–we’ll be counting stars
Everything that kills me makes me feel alive? Unfortunately Ivanovic can now put the defense of her 2014 Tokyo title in that category. Ivanovic suffered an unexpected loss to Dominika Cibulkova in the quarterfinals, 7-6 (5), 6-3. Or maybe not a totally unexpected loss; Cibulkova sent Ivanovic out of the US Open earlier this month. But trust Ivanovic when she says she’ll bounce back strong. The 12th-ranked player in the world will be feeling very alive when she hits Wufan, China on September 27 — for the Dongfeng Motor Wufan Open. Because it kills her to lose.
