Customs officials at the Port of Baltimore found 147 pounds of cocaine in a shipping container. That’s a street value of $4 million. According to WJZ-TV, 57 bricks of cocaine were hidden in two gym bags in the container. Dianna Bowman of the Port of Baltimore said: “Narcotics interdiction remains a top Customs and Border Protection enforcement priority, and this case illustrates how CBP officers leverage non-intrusive imaging technologies to intercept dangerous drugs and to help keep our communities safe.”
This isn’t the first time Baltimore has been on the receiving end of so much cocaine. In 2007, CBP officers found 310 pounds inside 3 gym bags inside a shipping container from Ecuador.
