Jeff Weaver is in the driver’s seat of the Bernie Sanders campaign for president. Weaver isn’t a big national political brand, but he’s a Sanders man through and through — Weaver worked on the Sanders’ campaign that put him in the Senate in 2006. And he’s been chief of staff for Sanders in both his House of Representative and Senate positions.
Weaver’s loyalty and local flavor are balanced out by Tad Devine, one of those names often found around big familiar Democratic Party names. Devine has worked for John Kerry and Al Gore during their respective presidential runs. (Devine’s work for big name Dems goes all the way back to Jimmy Carter.) He’s president of a media advisory firm called Devine Mulvey Longabaugh. Devine lives in Rhode Island.
