Francis is portrayed by Richard Armitage. Americans will recognize the Englishman from The Hobbit movie franchise (Thorin) and Captain America; The First Avenger (Heinz Kruger). Armitage is currently filming the biopic Brain on Fire, which is based on Susannah Cahalan’s memoir Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness. Chloe Grace Moretz will portray Susannah, the 24-year-old New York Post reporter who lost her mind for one month due to a mysterious illness. Armitage plays Susannah’s father. Hannibal airs Sundays at 10pm on NBC.
