On The Strain, Dr. Ephraim “Eph” Goodweather (Corey Stoll) is trying to survive an evil plague that’s being released by an anicent vampire roaming New York City. While Eph tries to develop a biological weapon to wipe out the Strigoi, Staten Island Councilwoman Justine Feraldo says all the infected people — in all boroughs — need to be exterminated. Showrunner Carlton Cuse describes Faralodo as a wildcard character “who becomes extremely significant.”
Councilwoman Faraldo is portrayed by Samantha Mathis. The native New Yorker is best known for her roles as Dr. Alice Calvert on Under the Dome and as Melinda Prescott on Grey’s Anatomy. She also played Courtney Rawlinson in the 2000 cult classic American Psycho with Christian Bale, Reese Witherspoon and Justin Theroux. The Strain airs Sundays at 10pm on FX.
