Before Kate Hudson‘s mom Goldie Hawn became an international film star and icon, she was most famous for her singularly gleeful blond ditziness on Rowan & Martin’s 60s sensation, Laugh-In. No one who’s ever seen a young spry Goldie Hawn say “Sock it to me” while wearing a bikini will likely ever forget the image.
Kate Hudson totally channels mom Goldie when she goes adventuring on Running Wild with Bear Grylls on NBC. The second generation movie star eats ants and some pigeon on the show, but that’s the least of it. Hudson hikes up 8,000 feet to a snowy mountain peak with Grylls — and is game for anything the noted nature man throws at her. “She was fearless and went for it,” Grylls says of Kate Hudson. It’s the least he could say. Kate Hudson basically looked the tough guy in the eye and said, if not in so many words, exactly what mom used to say: Sock it to me, Bear Grylls. Monday, 10pm on NBC.
