Justin Lowe was the founding guitarist of the metal band After the Burial. On July 18 he was reported missing. On July 21, a hiker discovered his body near the St. Croix River in Minnesota. New Richmond-News reports that the cause of death was consistent with a fall. Lowe was 32.
Lowe left the band in June. On the band’s Facebook page, his fellow bandmates indicated that Lowe was suffering from a mental health disorder. They wrote: “Justin is ill, and right now he needs more than ever to be shown that the world is not against him. He needs support and love from everyone, and to know that we only want what’s best for him. We will continue to support him and his family as best we can through this tough time.”
