Transgender actress Candis Cayne was born Brendan McDaniel, one of two male fraternal twins in 1971. She moved to New York and became a drag performer. She first performed as Candis Cayne at gay bar Boy Bar in the 1990s. In 2007, she became the first transgender person to star in a primetime drama. On Dirty Sexy Money, she played Carmelita Rainer, a trans woman having an affair with married NY Attorney General Patrick Darling (William Baldwin).
Candis is back in the media spotlight for spending time with Caitlyn Jenner. Rumors are spreading that they’re dating but sources deny it. On Facebook, Candis is having fun with the idea. She reposted a number of posts including one from Christophe Tourache who wrote: “Caitlin was in NYC at a benefit where Candis Cayne was and now they are in Love?” And Jackie Beat wrote: “I am praying to the ghost of Bea Arthur that this is TRUE!”
