‘The Magicians’ — New York City Has Never Looked So Cool

Syfy is adapting Lev Grossman’s book trilogy into a TV series, The Magicians. The 12-episode show is about a group of students studying magical pedagogy at the fictional Brakebills College. Quentin Coldwater is the protagonist, portrayed by Jason Ralph (A Most Violent Year). Quentin says he learned magic tricks just to keep up with Julia who now wants him to stop. Julia is portrayed by Stella Maeve (Chicago P.D.).

The magic the students perform is visually amazing, as demonstrated in the trailer (see below). New York City has never looked so cool. The Magicians will make its debut in 2016.
