Former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum is running for president again. The sweater vest-wearing Pennsylvania Republican was eventual candidate Mitt Romney’s closest competitor last time. Santorum worked the “family values” avenue to great effect for a passionate constituency whose size is hard to measure. Santorum’s appeal would presumably have to be broadened as a national candidate. That’s no easy task, perhaps especially because last time Santorum ran gay marriage was illegal nearly everywhere in the US. He now runs in a country where attitudes on gay marriage have gone through a swift reversal. And Santorum may not even be the most conservative guy in the race this time around: Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, for instance, has staked a claim on the title.
Santorum is, however, the only candidate who runs his own media company. In 2013 Santorum was named CEO of EchoLight Studios, a Christian movie company. EchoLights produced the popular films Heaven Is for Real and Son of God.
